The Center's education programs include scheduled school groups and informal education for visitors at PIER 39 in San Francisco (home of the world-famous sea lions), and outreach to schools through our Whale Bus™.


All programs:
  • Are adapted to your group's age/grade level.
  • Support the California State Academic Content Standards.
  • Include educational resource materials for preparation and pre- and post-program activities.
  • Are available in Spanish upon request. (Ofrecemos todos nuestros programas en español).

The Marine Mammal Center is a non-profit rescue and rehabilitation hospital for stranded marine mammals. The Center is funded primarily by grants, private donations, and memberships. Program fees support one-third of the Education Department's budget. We appreciate your contribution to our efforts.
